Catherine Kelly is an expert political communications specialist and brings a decade of experience in media to Mammoth. A former journalist, Catherine’s background gives her a unique understanding of the changing media landscape. Her skills include media relations, developing strategic communications plans, and digital production.
Before joining Mammoth, Catherine was the Deputy Director of Communications for the Governor of Illinois and responsible for the overall earned media strategy of the administration. She started in the Governor’s Office as Press Secretary, leveraging her existing relationships in the press and understanding of the news cycle to earn widespread and positive media coverage.
As a journalist, Catherine worked for ABC 7 Chicago, number-one station in Illinois; KCRA-TV, the number-one station in Sacramento, and KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in California for coverage on a tsunami hitting Northern California after the 2011 Japanese earthquake.
Catherine graduated from the country’s best journalism school at the University of Missouri. She moved to Houston right after Harvey hit with her husband - a native of Katy - for his job. They live with their dog, Sadie, in West U.
